SHED Cafe just off Healdsburg Plaza is a massive, industrial-chic marketplace and all-day restaurant with a coffee counter, market and fermentation bar. In the lofty, two-floored space, diners convene at communal tables by the bar, on a side porch or lush garden patio. Using local, farm-fresh fare, much of it sourced within a few miles of the restaurant, Chef Perry Hoffman turns out inspired NorCal dishes with international influence like rabbit confit with pickled garlic and fava beans, squid and sprouted lentil salad dotted with lemon ginger sauce, fermented carrots, avocado and cumin, or tart plums in salted yogurt, sesame seeds, shishito peppers, mint and lime. Drink offerings include house kombucha and shrubs as well as California wines, beers, ciders and mead.
