Thanks to owner Bob Klein, Oliveto is an Oakland institution and legend since the 1980s, located right off of the Rockridge BART stop. In the more casual café downstairs and white tablecloth dining room upstairs, Chef Jonah Rhodehamel turns out Northern California-meets-Italian cuisine and some the best pasta in the Bay Area, using Klein's own local heirloom grains. An Italian-heavy wine list and dedicated local diners keep the restaurant as relevant as it was 30 years ago.
