“Start with a drink. At Macchialina, cocktails are made with vermouth, prosecco, or aperol. Proceed with antipasti. Try the warm butternut squash salad or broccolini al cesare. Then order Michael Pirolo's amazing fresh pastas. Isn't that what you came to Macchialina for? There's spaghetti con vongole, lasagna with short ribs and taleggio, and cavatelli Macchialina -- teeny pasta shells in a baby meatball and porchetta sauce. “The dishes that resonate with me from my childhood have had a profound effect on how I cook today. Dinner was an important time in my family…It was about eating but more importantly about being together, and my mother knew the better the food the longer we would sit. Pasta was a staple in my house and, to this day, I still use my mother’s pickled eggplant recipe.” – Chef Michael Pirolo

Ambience

The 60-seat space is warm and inviting, with a down-home, neighborhood feel. Rustic elements – wide-plank black wood floors, brick walls, and wood-paneled ceilings – are accented with the rich red hue of the booths and chairs, and the caged lights dangling above the bar. On the walls, oversized chalkboards display the daily specials as well as the weekly music line-up.
