Opened by the crew behind award-winning Benu, In Situ is an elevated New American bistro housed in the SFMOMA musuem showcasing dishes curated from some of the most celebrated restaurants around the world like Noma, Central in Lima, The French Laundry and Tim Raue in Berlin. Set in an understated, contemporary dining room with a casual "cafe" side offering a bites menu and restaurant side with a full menu, diners choose dishes like seared duck breast with green lentils, spicy pork sausage rice cakes with Sichuan peppercorn or celeriac and goat cheese profiteroles, prepared with the specifications and even plating of the restaurant each recipe hails from. Drink offerings include European and Californian wines, Japanese sakes, craft beer, spirits and cocktails like the Algonquin (blended Scotch, white vermouth, pineapple, thyme).
