“Not more than 100 feet from the beach, Fig inside Santa Monica's Fairmont Miramar Hotel feels like an oasis, especially if you manage to snag one of the hotel's outdoor tables near the koi pond. Chef Ray Garcia pays attention to seasonality and his most favorite farmers from the nearby Santa Monica Farmers Market. Sip a craft cocktail and catch up with old friends over pork belly tacos or little gem lettuces.” – LA Magazine

Fig is so connected to the famers market that it is possible to suspect the existence of an oversized umbilical cord soaring above the hotel entrance’s giant Moreton Bay fig tree from which the restaurant takes its name. There is not just butter with your bread but arugula butter; not just grilled romaine in the anchovy salad but blistered Little Gem hearts; not just citrus zest with the parsnips but grated Buddha’s hand. A little line on the bottom of the menu…lists not just produce just coming into season and produce in peak season, but also produce coming soon, so that even during February showers we may take comfort in the strawberries and green peas yet to come, preferably while dining on the seasonally appropriate sautéed Bloomsdale spinach with Kurobuta pork. Even the cocktails are flavored with things like rhubarb and rosemary, fresh blueberries and thyme, and English cucumber with lavender.” – LA Weekly

Ambience

The light, airy space has a relaxed, neighborhood feel. The dining room, with large windows, striped banquettes and a communal table, also boasts a cheese and charcuterie station and circular bar, and opens to additional seating on the terrace and pool and garden areas.

On the Side

Adventurous diners can enjoy the “Feed Me!” five-course menu option for which Chef Garcia prepares a personalized meal of FIG favorites and off-menu creations based on guests’ ingredient preferences.
