Overview

John Besh's restaurant group reinvigorated the classic and long-awaited re-opening of the venerable Caribbean Room in the Garden District’s historic Pontchartrain Hotel. Expect classic-modern Creole cuisine like shrimp saki with lemon butter, soft shell crab or pan-roasted red grouper topped with lump crabmeat, as well as famous mile high pie topped with chocolate sauce and meringue, all paired with wine and classic cocktails. The elegant dining room sports Old World elegance with modern touches, marked by white rattan furniture, palm tree carpeting and glowing chandeliers. The bustling Hot Tin bar upstairs boasts views of the New Orleans skyline, named as an homage to Tennessee Williams, who supposedly lived in the hotel while writing "A Street Car Named Desire".
