What the Food Critics are Saying

“In the beating heart of Buckhead is a French restaurant like no other in the city. With decor that’s reminiscent of the classic dining rooms of the 1920s, all that’s missing to make the place feel like burlesque Paris is a stage and Josephine Baker. Along with an extensive wine list with a giant range of French reds, whites, and champagne, Bistro Niko stocks beers from France, Germany, Italy, England, and right here in Georgia. And how about the food? Whether the charcuterie Grand Platter is your thing, or Herb Goat Cheese Ravioli, Shrimp En Brique or Steak Au Poivre, there is a classic French dish to match your palate, and the best thing is this: it’s all really good.”— Atlanta Eats

“To step into Buckhead’s Bistro Niko is to step back in time to 1920s Paris. French art adorns the walls, alongside photos of the Parisian brasseries that inspired the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group’s Karatassos family when they created the bistro. True Francophiles will delight in chef Gary Donlick’s authentic delicacies like foie gras with brioche croutons or a simple but delicious classic coq au vin—chicken in red wine, Parisian mushrooms, pearl onions and steamed potatoes. But, this wouldn’t be a true French affair without indulgent desserts, oui? Chocolate lovers will go crazy for profiteroles (choux pastry, vanilla ice cream, bitter chocolate sauce and almonds).Don’t forget to head outside, where a prime view of Peachtree awaits. Take it all in with a Moscow Mule in hand and profiteroles on deck.” – Jezebel Magazine

“Niko has what may be the best French onion soup in town – dark, rich broth, teeming with onions, and that crusty/soggy/cheesy muddle on top. There's nothing groundbreaking about it, just a classic version done right. Salads, including the frisée and the niçoise, are dressed and prepared correctly. And patés – from country to the "faux gras" chicken liver to the actual foie gras – all stand out as meatily delicious, seasoned flawlessly and made with obvious skill.” – Creative Loafing

Ambience

The iconic setting, inspired by the Parisian brasseries of the 1920s, is glamorous and romantic. Mirrors and French art and photos adorn the walls. Dark woods, red leather booths and banquettes, and an ornate ceiling with swirled molding and twinkly lights complete the brasserie feel. Outside, the wraparound patio offers alfresco dining (and great people watching) under large, acid-etched globes.
