Overview

Since 2010, Barbuzzo dishes up wood-fired Mediterranean-inspired fare in Washington Square West. Dish highlights include sheep’s milk ricotta on grilled country bread, short rib and pork meatballs, funghi pizza with arugula pesto or the crowd-favorite salted caramel budino. Helmed by Philly restauranteurs chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran, the restaurant garnered a James Beard nomination for Best New Restaurant in 2011. The bar pours a selection of French and Italian wines, craft beer and ciders and house cocktails like the Cetriolo Rosso (gin, muddled cucumber, Campari, tonic).
