Open in 2016, Agern is a Scandinavian restaurant in Grand Central Terminal helmed by chef Claus Meyer (of Copenhagen’s Noma) and featuring a sophisticated interior of dark woods and black leather banquettes. Chef Gunnar Gíslason creates tasting menus (including a vegetarian option) and a la carte New Nordic fare in dishes like salted trout and oyster on crispy rye bread or poached cabbage with tarragon, pickled onions and mustard seeds. The bar program focuses on American wines (coming from NY, CA, WA) as well as Nordic-influenced cocktails featuring the likes of aquavit, elderflower and acorn bitters.
